If I were a foundation I would fund CORE because there really is a direct effect on the people that you are working with in the field. My association with CORE Group has been one of the best in my professional life, and certainly the one I have learned the most from. I just wanted to let you know how much I have appreciated what I have learned and the good friends I have made through CORE, including all of you on the staff. I have especially admired the very hard work you have put in to keep the group alive in the last few years under difficult circumstances.
— Bill Yaggey, AMREF
Exposure and access to a wealth of ideas and action being done by colleagues. CORE Group allows for an environment where inspiration and resources can come together and impact can be multiplied. — Monica Trigg, CARE USA
The CORE Group meetings are the best opportunity we have had so far to connect with people that do work at the community-level. We really appreciate the networks that we have been able to make and the resources that we have been able collect. All of the sessions have been extremely relevant and the discussions have been rich. The different perspectives of the different programs have added to what we brought. We felt we were in a corner trying to figure things out, but now we feel connected. You are doing wonderful work. Thank you because to us, CORE Group is a blessing.
— Arlette Sheppard, Ministry of Health- Belize
The whole is greater than some of the parts. With CORE, you have a way of accessing so many different organizations working in so many different countries with so many different beneficiary populations. There is a lot of synergy. Of all the various networks and associations I have been a part of in my 25 years of development experience, CORE Group is by far and away the only one that gives me any real and long lasting value. That value stems from the connection CORE Group provides me and my organization to other like minded people and organizations. Through CORE Group we can work collaboratively together on projects and issues that have significant meaning for us and we can bring to life the old adage that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
— Janine Schooley, PCI
The thing that impresses me about CORE Group is that it is a safeplace where health professionals from organizations working all over the world can come together and share information and knowledge. The knowledge and skills that members gain from CORE are invaluable.
— Houkje Ross, Communications Consultant
I think anybody that is interested in Community-based child health should be involved in CORE Group because this is the place where the ideas are rapidly being developed and promoted and it’s just a great place to learn about the latest and greatest things in the field.
— David Pyle, Consultant
Through CORE Group, I value access to current up-to-date information on maternal and child health and community-based primary health care, opportunities to learn from other organizations about their current programs, inspiration and fellowship.
— Henry Perry, Johns Hopkins University/ Future Generations
We see community-based activities as the gold standard for public health and health system implementation. CORE Group's strategy is to bring services to the community. I wish I could join as a CORE Group member to champion community healths services in Liberia.
— Mr. Tolbert Nyenswah, Ministry of Health and Social Welfare- Liberia
When you are a member of CORE you do not have to wait until something is produced or published. Instead, you are interacting with people as they are conceptualizing, drafting, and developing these materials. You can talk about them, learn from them rather than waiting 5 or 10 years before they are published and available on websites.
— Todd Nitkin, M&E Specialist, Medical Teams International
At a time when development efforts are fragmented and sometimes even competitive with each other, the CORE Group provides unifying coordination and inspires collaboration to achieve shared goals.
— Elaine Murphy, Visiting Scholar at the Population Reference Bureau
