CORE Welcomes HOPE Worldwide

Hope Worldwide

HOPE Worldwide is an international non-governmental organization based in Wayne, Pennsylvania, that changes lives by harnessing the compassion and commitment of dedicated staff and volunteers to deliver sustainable, high-impact, community-based services to the poor and needy. The International Churches of Christ founded HOPE worldwide to serve the poor and needy throughout the world. HOPE worldwide was incorporated as a 501(c)3 organization in 1991. It has an annual revenue base of approximately $42 million (FY04) with substantial citizen support.

The majority of HOPE worldwide's efforts are focused on meeting the health needs of disadvantaged people: HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, leprosy, childhood diseases, land mines and improvement of health/sanitation. Through a network of professionals and trained volunteers, local communities are given the tools to sustain improved health practices.

HOPE worldwide is currently operating a USAID Child Survival and Health Grant in the slums of New Delhi, India and implements several PEPFAR programs. For the past 12 years in Africa, HOPE worldwide has conducted community mobilization programs fighting the spread of HIV/AIDS and caring for children affected by the pandemic. The organization's community mobilization practices in Cote d'Ivoire was cited by UNAIDS as a "best practice." Programs in Afghanistan, Cambodia, China (Hong Kong), Colombia, Germany, India, Indonesia, Jamaica, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, United Kingdom and the United States work to improve the health of critically under-served communities through health education, deployment of volunteers, and the delivery of high quality, compassionate healthcare. Facilitating the mission are programs designed to motivate medical professionals to serve, including continuing medical education and training in underdeveloped settings.
