CORE 2004 Annual Report
In 2004, CORE welcomed three new organizational members, increased NGO collaboration for maternal and child health at the country level, and documented and disseminated a number of NGO innovations. CORE's Annual Report summarizes 2004 accomplishments for each of its eight technical working groups and the Polio Partners Project. The report also describes CORE's strategic goals, member services, and Diffusion of Innovations Initiative. A summary of communications and research tools is included.

Positive Deviance Approach: Beyond Nutrition - Meeting Report
The report includes presentations and resources from a half-day December 2004 workshop sponsored by the CORE Group and the Positive Deviance Initiative. Speakers included Jerry and Monique Sternin of the Positive Deviance Initiative and David Marsh from Save the Children.

PD/Hearth Nutrition Technical Advisory Group Meeting Report
The Technical Advisory Group (TAG) for Positive Deviance/Hearth held its third meeting on December 8, 2004 in Washington, DC. The meeting report outlines discussion among TAG members and includes hand-outs from the meeting, the results of a survey of CORE members on current Hearth programs, a power point presentation on Indonesia's experience with PD/Hearth, and a list of meeting participants.

Knowledge, Practice and Coverage Survey Training Curriculum
CORE's Knowledge, Practice and Coverage Survey Training Curriculum provides trainer guidelines and participant handouts and resources to train field workers to carry out a KPC survey. The curriculum is composed of three parts: 1) a set of participant manuals and workbooks, 2) a set of trainers' guides, and 3) a training of trainers supplement for both participants and trainers. CORE's M & E Working Group developed the curriculum in collaboration with FANTA, Freedom from Hunger, and CSTS.

Diffusing Partnership-Defined Quality (PDQ) - A Proven Approach To Improve The Quality Of And Access To Child Health Services (Save the Children)
Partnership-Defined Quality is a methodology to improve the quality and accessibility of services with community involvement in defining, implementing, and monitoring the quality improvement process. The PDQ Facilitator's Guide is a training supplement created by Save the Children to enable facilitators to conduct a PDQ training. Participants will gain an understanding of when and how PDQ can be used to strengthen quality and access. The training supplement is designed to be used in conjunction with the PDQ tool book: Partnership Defined Quality: A tool book for community and health provider collaboration for quality improvement.
