Betsy Brown has served over twenty years with USAID as a Senior Foreign Service Officer. She currently is the Director of the Office of Health, Infectious Diseases and Nutrition at the Global Health Bureau within USAID. She brings to her work a solid background in Law and Diplomacy (Fletcher School) and Nutrition (Tufts University). Ms. Brown has extensive international experience including recent tours in Jamaica, Mauritania, and most recently, Haiti.


Sheila Lutjens is presently the Director of USAID's Child Survival Grants Program. A nurse by training with an MPH from the Johns Hopkins University and a Masters in Nursing from Catholic University, Sheila joined USAID in 1993 and has been posted in both Nicaragua and Jamaica. In Nicaragua, she managed a bilateral child survival program; in Jamaica she managed an adolescent reproductive health program, a basic education program, and a regional Caribbean HIV program. Before joining USAID, Sheila worked with the International Rescue Committee and the International Medical Corps in Pakistan.
